Hello there… My name is Courtney.
I am a free-spirited, creative and sensitive soul with a need to constantly give in to my artistic calling. I’m always looking for new ways of capturing the world around me, and love to look for new perspectives.
When it comes to the images I take, it is always my goal to preserve your most important memories while making you look your best. When we have our session together, I want you to trust me and feel 100% comfortable. You will learn quickly that I’m very laid back yet focused and when we are joking around that’s when we will get the best images. All of my clients are family to me, and I work hard for my family. I want you to feel relaxed, refreshed and excited to see your images when we are all done.
All of my techniques and abilities have come from years of experience, experimenting, and tons of tutorial reading and watching. I have worked for, and collaborated with, many creative people who have taught me a lot about photography. It has been quite a journey of constantly finding balance within myself and what my business is about.
I started my photography as a business in 2005 when I had a Canon Rebel 35mm film camera, which taught me a lot about I paying attention to detail. In 2006 I upgraded to a digital Canon camera and really started putting my photography and editing skills to work. Since then I have been back and forth with basic life stuff and keeping up with my photography as a business.
I am a wife and mother of three. My best friend and husband, Chris, has been my number one supporter from the beginning. We started dating when we were 16 and 18, then married at 19 and 21. We have since added to our family with our three little #1 fans, Josiah, Jocelyn, and Jude. They will often be seen tagging along with me to photo-shoots. Between my family and my client family I am very loved and supported and feel very appreciative.
Although my photography is first and foremost my hobby, it is also my business. I do everything I can to keep it interesting and fresh because when I lose that aspect, I lose my creativity and focus. I also protect it, care about it, nurture it, and sometimes become flat out frustrated with it. But that is me, this is how my business has evolved and I will continue to develop my skills and grow.
In short, I absolutely love what I do. I love stretching my creative limits, whether though painting or drawing, writing music or playing my ukulele, knitting or crocheting, cooking or baking, reading for myself or to my children, or of course, taking photos. It’s all a part of my journey and I would be honored if you choose me to capture your most important life moments. I look forward to meeting you. ✌
